Hated this fucking commercial then and now

I am looking for the 1994 MTV Movie Awards full show, and the episodes of MTV's FANatic that had Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, David Spade, Bryan Adams, Wallflowers, Third Eye Blind, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Would love to see these. Please help and thanks.

Durability is a key advantage to CDs... I have over 3,400 cds and only two had playable issues. One was pretty scratched (ebay buy...buyer listed as mint, issued a refund after seeing the pictures) so, having nothing to loose, I tried the "toothpaste" method which worked to perfection. So not only are CDs more forgiving of damage, they don't wear out from "overplaying." I have an audiophile friend who won't play the same record more than once a day, as he feels the vinyl heats up when being played and, as such, if replayed too soon, the grooves will be damaged (hey, he's a video/audio techie in LA... so there's no use arguing with him.)

Interesting interview. No roots on Punk Rock. Anarchy and such. ----- I'm into Metal, but Metal is just good behavior, nothing wild or crazy. Metal is just posing and fake here and there.

Size matters when it comes to this debate. Vinyl is very cumbersome however it offers far more historic value and visual pleasure than CDs. As far as the condition of the media goes, proper handling, cleaning and protection of any media surface should be taken to preserve whatever format one chooses to collect. Scratched up CDs look hideous as do scratched up vinyl records. CDs do however play without surface noise even when they appear to be scratched unless the scratch is deep and the cd skips or stops. In the end I enjoy both formats. However I favor vinyl because I’m a nostalgia music historian at heart and CDs are a modern advancement in music. John Lennon said, “If it hadn’t been for Elvis there wouldn’t have been The Beatles.” Well If it hadn’t been for vinyl records there wouldn’t have been CDs” 😂 I only buy CDs of recordings that are not released on vinyl or I cannot afford the release on vinyl but it’s available and affordable on CD. Well CDs are more easier to come across and cheaper than a vinyl. However the vinyl has been the "premium" whereas the CD is a "free trial".A vinyl album is considered a collectors type shit.

Vinyls are more of a displayable piece in the modern day as cds are sadly going out of style

I like both. But a great comparison would be The original Dave Mason Alone Together marbled vinyl package. Great album, great looking vinyl, great packaging. The CD is a dud in comparison.

I think the quietness of Bob Dylan sounds better on cd. Art wise depends, sometimes the cd has more art included in book.

Hi Steve! I've never even heard of that Billy Idol album, and guess from your review I should count myself lucky for not knowing it. I had pretty much checked out on Simple Minds after the album Street Fighting Years, so don't know that one you showed. That Van Halen album is absolutely awful. That Who album is another one I've never seen before! I like your review "There's just nothing on here" 😂 Change of producer led to that X album as you said. Ray Manzarek was the man.

Finally went the summer of 1996...😑 First there is nothing "Country" about it, it's Yonkers NY. It was just your average carnival, only it was held at Yonkers Race Way. It was pretty bootleg but I was happy to finally see what all the hype was about. I had a cool time, plus weather was beautiful that day.

If you haven't seen the documentary Class Action Park I highly recommend it.

I have never heard Cyberpunk (In fact, many of these I have never heard) and, while I love Simple Minds, I lost track of them after 1989.

Hi Steve. I was playing along even before your first choice ... I really liked the Strokes' 'Angles' too. I remember playing it loads when it came out. It's been very frustrating being a fan of the band. They never built up any momentum, taking long breaks between releases and sometimes releasing substandard material. Have you got any of Albert Hammond Jr.'s solo material? I saw him live in a small club and was very impressed. I was a little star-struck! ... My first X album was 'Ain't Love Grand' and I wondered what all the fuss was about. As you say, the problem was the producer ... I thought you might have shown the Clash's 'Cut The Crap'. I'd also include Public Image Ltd's 'The Flowers Of Romance'.

I love this concept. I might have to put something like this together. To be fair, I am a Weezer fan, so half the albums are disappointments, a handful are classics, and the remaining sliver are the "just average". I still haven't been fully disappointed by The Strokes - if anything, I find First Impressions of Earth uneven and bloated.

The Who is one of my all time favorite bands but 'Endless Wire' is by far the worst album I've heard by a great band. It never should have been released.

I love Comedown Machine the songs 80's Comedown Machine is one of my favourite songs of all time and as well as Tap Out, Welcome To Japan and Slow Animals are just such amazing timeless classics. I personally think its better than Angles.

The only one of those that I have is the Who. I always hate it when an album doesn't meet expectations. It happens a lot. Show your love and support for the Alan Rosenberg show. He's been flagged for showing sexy album covers!!!! It's an outrage. Since when is sexy wrong??? I hear he may do his next video nude😂.

Hi Steve - Its always a disappointment when a favorite puts out something not just mediocre but awful ! In 2008 both The Cure & Oasis put out unforgivably bad records. In the 90's many acts tried ( & failed ) to stay relevant like Billy Idol , INXS , Human League , ABC & both Van Halen & Genesis resorting to new vocalists ! The time comes for many where they should live by touring & merchandise & not lose fans by putting out subpar material.

Yes, I like Billy Idol’s Shock To The System, but I never wanted to check out Cyperpunk. I’ve never been a fan of The Strokes because of their guitar sound and their vocals.

Love the topic of course. Great choices (you don't see those everyday) - Billy Idol, Simple Minds, Van Halen. I'm so with you on Endless Wire!!! And the drumming on Endless Wire is so lame for The Who. Nice to see you didn't include Primitive Cool and Dirty Work.

Some Kind Of Wonderful. Worst movie of the bunch/best soundtrack. Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a favorite of mine. I loved John Candy.
